DIGITAL DYNAMISM
Investing in the future of Watford’s business community to help accelerate business growth, is a priority of Watford Borough Council. To enable Watford businesses to remain competitive, now and in the future, Watford Borough Council funded 10 digital skills workshops. They helped 140 businesses to develop a range of valuable digital marketing skills.
Expert, practical and dynamic
Business support specialists, Branduin, were commissioned to develop and deliver the workshops, aimed at small and medium sized businesses. The workshops were delivered by experts - leaders in their field. They were hands-on and practical, delivered in a dynamic learning environment, providing techniques that could be immediately put into action by businesses. Topics included LinkedIn – lead generation; Social Media for Business and Search Engine Optimisation, known as SEO.
In addition to the workshops, 20 participating businesses were provided with one to one expert digital consultancy, tailored to their needs. As part of the consultancy, they not only had access to free digital support to develop their projects, but were trained in the specific digital skills required to take them forward.
The project was promoted through Watford Borough Council’s newsletters and social media; through Watford Chamber of Commerce and Branduin’s own database.
Phenomenal response
The response was phenomenal. The workshops launched in January 2022 and by the end of the programme in July, 140 unique businesses had up-skilled their digital skills, against a target of 75, with workshops attracting more than 200 participants.
The outstanding success of this project will benefit businesses long into the future through increasing digital knowledge, skills and confidence.
